Appointed as Construction Manager, Pyramid provided pre-construction services which included finalising Client’s development brief, co-ordinating design consultants to obtaining DA and BL for the construction of a specialised service centre for Polysius Australia. Polysius, part of the ThyssenKrupp Technologies a global public company, provides project planning, engineering design, fabrication and on-site installation to commissioning and maintenance of plant and equipment for the mineral and cement industries.

The new service centre comprises 1,600m2 main workshop, two 570m2 secondary workshops; two level 960m2 corporate offices. The main workshop is constructed of structural steel portal framework, concrete tilt-up panels and colorbond wall/roof cladding. The roof is 18m high to accommodate a 220T overhead crane. The floor incorporates two special bases to accommodate a “tilting” device and “centre lathe”.

The remainder of works includes a washdown area, bin and gas storage, staff amenity area, car parking and landscaping.

Internal access roads were designed to accommodate 116 wheeled prime mover.
